The latest news article on the "middle child": Jan 30, 2021 Screen Shots from IG sponsored ad by Missing Kids Mississippi Authorities believe unidentified Bear Brook victim has relatives from Mississippi Police say genealogy research suggests mother of child has relatives in Pearl River County Updated: 7:42 AM EST Jan 22, 2021 https://www.wmur.com/article/terry-rasumussen-victim-update-january-21-2021/35284421# MANCHESTER, N.H. -- The search for the name of the remaining unidentified murder victim found in a barrel in Allenstown is leading authorities to Mississippi. Investigators said genealogy research suggests the girl and her biological mother might have relatives in Pearl River County, which is not far from New Orleans. The girl was found dead in a barrel along with the body of an adult woman in Bear Brook State Park in 2000. The bodies of two girls were found in a different barrel in the park 15 years earlier. They were all the victims of homicides, authorities said. >> Case timeline The other three victims were identified in 2019 as a mother and her two daughters from California. DNA testing revealed that the unidentified child was not related to the three other victims but confirmed that suspected serial killer Terry Peder Rasmussen, who was known as “Bob Evans” during his time in New Hampshire, was her biological father. To find out the girl’s identity, officials in New Hampshire have partnered with genetic genealogist Dr. Barbara Rae-Venter. Louisiana State Police said the girl and her mother, who is also unidentified and is believed to be another Rasmussen victim, could be descendants of Thomas “Deadhorse” Mitchell, who was born in 1836, or William Livings, who was born in 1826. The girl would be the 5X- or 6X-great-grandchild of one of the men. While it’s believed that the girl’s mother’s relatives are most likely from Pearl River County, no location is being ruled out, police said. Authorities announced last February they learned the girl, who was estimated to be about 2 to 4 years old at the time of her death, was primarily Caucasian, with a small amount of Asian, Black and American Indian ancestry. Authorities believe she was born between 1975 and 1977. The girl had slightly wavy brown hair and was between 3 feet, 3 inches and 3 feet, 9 inches tall. She had a slight overbite that might have been noticeable, authorities said. Authorities said an analysis of her bones suggests she might have had anemia during her life, but the condition cannot be confirmed. Police are encouraging people in the Pearl River County area to upload their DNA into GEDmatch or Family Tree DNA, if they are comfortable, to increase the likelihood that authorities are able to identify the girl and her mother. Anyone who is aware of a missing child or a missing child and her mother from the late 1970s to early 1980s is asked to call New Hampshire State Police 603-MCU-TIPS or Sgt. Matthew Koehler of the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit at 603-223-3648 or matthew.koehler@dos.nh.gov News Video Link
Previous case information is below: The girl was one of four victims found in two barrels near Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown in 1985 and 2000. Three of them were identified last year as Marlyse Elizabeth Honeychurch and her two children, Marie Elizabeth Vaughn and Sarah Lynn McWaters. The unidentified girl isn't believed to be related to them. The investigation suggests that the unidentified girl was not from New Hampshire, but most likely from Texas, Arizona, California or Oregon. Through ongoing genealogy work, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says the child is primarily Caucasian with a small amount of Asian, black and American Indian ancestry. She was 2 to 4 years old at the time of her death, placing her birthdate between 1975-1977. She had slightly wavy brown hair and stood as tall as 3 feet, 9 inches. She had a slight overbite. Authorities believe Terry Peder Rasmussen was responsible for all four deaths and that the unidentified body is his daughter's. He went by many aliases, including "Bob Evans." Rasmussen, who is suspected of killing at least six women and two children, died in a California prison in 2010. Rasmussen claimed to spend substantial time in Texas during the early 1980s and may have known someone staying at an RV park in Austin during 1986. He claimed to have been employed at a company called Brown and Root in Houston during the 1970s. Attempts to reach relatives of Rasmussen have been unsuccessful. Please contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST if you have any information that could help identify this child. New Hampshire Police would like to know of anyone recognizes where they were taken. "Now authorities are asking the public to look closely at the photos they released showing Marie Vaughn at her 7th or 8th birthday party. Believed to be in 1978 or 1979, the party could have been somewhere on the East Coast, perhaps even in New Hampshire." https://www.unionleader.com/news/crime/bear-brook-killings-an-old-photo-raises-more-questions/article_bb060c56-bf60-5bf0-b331-205f7ad98aeb.html It is unclear how this child is associated with the three related females but it’s estimated that they all died at the same time between 1978-1984. Advanced forensic testing reveals that this non-related child did not grow up in the same geographic area as other three victims. She likely was born and spent the majority of her childhood in a more northern and inland location such as northern New Hampshire, northern Vermont, upstate New York and further inland. Based on isotope testing this little girl likely lived in the highlighted areas in the late 1970's. Her mother could have been from an area where Terry was living under an alias (see graphic below timeline) and then moved with him giving birth in the destination area. According to a June 2019 interview with Terry Rasmussen's daughter she had met the unidentified "Middle Child". "While authorities have been unable to identify a fourth body found in the barrels, beyond figuring out that she was Rasmussen’s daughter, Stiers, the youngest of four children, said she and her siblings refer to their half sister as “Anita Moon.” She remembers meeting her; she doesn’t remember where. “I met her in somebody’s house,” she told the Union Leader. “She had pigtails on each side and they stuck straight out. … I remember her being cute and being shy. … She was adorable.” https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2019/06/11/terry-rasmussen-bear-brook-serial-killer-daughter-interviews Timeline: The history of serial killer Terry Peder Rasmussen (June 2019 Timeline is all the way at the bottom of this page) 11/28/2018 Timeline: The history of serial killer Terry Peder Rasmussen - The Boston Globe https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2017/08/18/timeline-the-history-serial-killer-terry-peder-rasmussen/2xp4x8zrnS9QuFSgAoV0FM/story.html 2/6 A timeline of confirmed events released by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office. Just watched the piece about a man named Rasmussen who killed a women and three children and stuffed them in barrels in New Hampshire. The police have identified a mother and her two daughters, but do not know the identity of the third girl. If you go back and look at the last couple of photos of a birthday party for Maureen Vaughn there’s a little girl there that looks just like the composite. Could this be her?

I agree. Is there a link to the show on the case? If I don't have a link to that I'd like to add it.

Barbara Rae Venter is working on her genetic geneology now, trying to trace maternal relatives. The little girl in the birthday party photo does resemble the new composite. And Rasmussen daughter Andrea Stiers's recollection of meeting her might help too.

Is it possible they were children of people who were transporting something like oil, moonshine, or honey bees? Something transported in a drum or barrel? And, it was a game that the children played with their father? Like hide and seek? And, then, it became a routine moving tem that way if they were of foreign descent, partially. And, then, there was a back injury on the line or lethargy from working too hard and people could not open the barrels to get them out? Or, they were no longer employees if terminated and not permitted to retrieve them?

The middle girl looks native to me. Rasmussen was said to have traveled to Quebec in with Denise to get married. Could explain the gap in his activity, if he was in Quebec for a few years. There are also a few unidentified remains in the Quebec/Ontario area around that time that could very well be Denise.

Has it been ruled out that Denise Beaudin isn’t the mother of the unidentified “middle child”? We know “Lisa” was Denise’s daughter and the middle child was Rasmussen’s. I found it interesting that both Denise and the middle child were described as having noticeable overbites.

The Middle Child had distant relatives down south so my guess is that they would have run that DNA genealogy research past Denise's family.
