Sex: Male Weight (pounds): Cannot Estimate Height (inches): 68, Estimated Hair color: The head hair would have been short, reddish brown/auburn. Eye color: Unknown or Missing Circumstances: This body was discovered by bird hunters in section 26 of McMillan Township, Luce County (Upper Peninsula), Michigan. The location is about 20 miles north of Newberry, MI, in a heavily wooded area about 2/10 of a mile south of Lake Superior. |
Skeletal findings: The skeleton displayed a healed spiral fracture to the left femur which had been treated with a temporary metal rod implant. The rod had been removed prior to death.
Multiple healed fractures were evident on the left lateral orbit, cheek, and nose. The left side of the face was depressed and there may have been a cosmetic defect (scar) on the left cheek.
There is also a possible healed fracture of the right radius, approximately 1/4 from the distal end.
Other items found with body: survival knife stamped U.S. Ontario--not army issue, possibly from a catalog
