Police are investigating skeletal remains that were found in a field on the South Side on Friday (January 2, 2015).
San Antonio Police Department spokesman Officer Douglas Greene said a crew surveying land in a field near Brooks City Base stumbled upon the remains around 12:15 p.m.
Greene said there appeared to be an indention in the ground with clothes inside that may have been a shallow grave. The remains were scattered across an area of tall grass indicating wild animals may have disturbed them.
SAPD is investigating the case as a homicide and said the remains could have been in place for a year or more.
