Circumstances of Disappearance:  Edward Garcia Jr is a Specialist in the Texas National Guard who was last seen in Alto Bonito, Texas on September 25, 2012.
He was assigned to the 236th Military Police Battalion of the Texas National Guard based in San Antonio, Texas.

Edward Garcia Jr. was living in Waco, Texas when he went to visit relatives in Alto Bonito, Texas. Edward Garcia Jr. only had $180 in his pocket and did not have any extra clothing with him. He has not been seen or heard from since he went missing and has not attended any of his National Guard weekend drills since.

​Circumstances of Disappearance:
Mr. Verdon was driven by a friend from Berkeley Township and dropped off at the Toms River Bus Station in Toms River NJ. Mr. Verdon advised his friend that he was going to New York City or Melbourne Florida. Mr. Verdon has not been heard from since. Mr. Verdon is an Army Veteran and frequents VA hospitals. The VA was able to flag his name as missing if Mr. Verdon arrived at any VA hospital in the country.

Questions Linger Long After Ocean County Vet’s Disappearance

TOMS RIVER – It’s been 10 years since a loved one saw Henry Edward Verdon, and his family still has a number of questions.

  He was last seen on July 3, 2014. A friend dropped him off at the Toms River bus station, said Suzanne Wold, his niece. She lives in Minnesota but contacted this newspaper to see if anyone has a hint as to his whereabouts.

  Verdon, known by the nickname “Bootsie,” is an Army veteran who frequented veteran administration hospitals. He suffers from bipolar disorder and left home without his medication. He had no cell phone.

He was last seen wearing a black and silver Harley Davidson jacket and blue jeans, she said. He is described as white with gray hair, blue eyes, about 5’8″, and roughly 180 lbs.

 “The VA hospitals have all been notified should he show up,” she said. “We will be going into his 10th year that he is missing and still nothing. We have been in contact with the detectives at the Berkeley Township Police Department and Henry’s brother has submitted DNA. My dad is 93 and would like to have some kind of closure on his whereabouts.”

The family is still wondering if there were cameras at the Toms River bus station that could have recorded him.

Unlike previous trips, the two brothers decided they would leave their location in Matamoros which was about 20 minutes south of Brownsville, Texas at about 2 AM and make the trip back to the United States. According to Ernesto Garcia’s wife, the two men never drove home at night and always waited until the day time to make the drive.
